Panel Discussion „From research to impact – and the many paths in between.“ Stay in science or start a business? A research idea with application potential does not necessarily mean having to choose between the two. There are many ways to turn research into impact: becoming a founder, contributing as a scientific co-founder, joining a complementary founding team, or advancing technology transfer while remaining in research. And sometimes, the first step is not deciding whether to start a company at all, but exploring the potential a technology or research idea may have beyond its scientific application. At this year’s Female Entrepreneurship Lunch Special, we bring together women with different perspectives on this journey. Together, we will explore what happens between a scientific idea and its application: How can researchers identify the potential of their work? What role can they take in bringing it forward? And how can science, entrepreneurship and different stages of life fit together? The aim is to encourage more female scientists to explore the potential of their research
for transfer and entrepreneurship – and to show that there is more than one way to do so.
